At Kalamapiʻi PLAY School, we are more than a preschool. We are a nurturing, therapeutic learning community rooted in connection, regulation, and belonging. Our school is entirely mixed age groups! We have the highest teacher to student ratio of any preschool on the island. That makes for more a safer, more connected and engaged environment for your keiki. At Kalamapiʻi, we believe that when children are free to play deeply and are supported emotionally as they grow, they develop not only school readiness, but resilience, empathy, and a strong sense of self. Our day flows like the waves. Children move between group connection and independent exploration. 7:30 am-9:00 am Arrival (please arrive before 9:00 A.M.), 9:00 am – 11:30 am Choice Time, 11:30 am – 12:30 pm Lunch, 12:30 pm Rest Time, 12:30 pm – 3:00 pm Afternoon Choice Time, 3:00 pm Pick Up (No later than 3:00 pm)

Our school is open Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–3:00 PM. Please plan for arrival between 7:30–9:00 AM and pick up no later than 3:00 PM.

We welcome keiki ages 2, 3, 4, and 5. Our program is designed to support early childhood development through play, exploration, and meaningful relationships.

We believe children learn best through hands-on, play-based, meaningful experiences. Our program supports: Social and emotional growth, physical development and movement, early literacy and language, math and problem-solving, science, creativity, and exploration. We focus on the whole child, supporting curiosity, confidence, and connection.

That is okay. Toilet readiness varies for each child. We support children who are in the process of learning when they show signs of readiness. Teachers will work with families to create a consistent, supportive plan between home and school.
